Total Goat

About

Total Goat is designed to be fed at up to 100% of the total daily feed requirement. However, for maximum gut health, and to prevent gas formation in the rumen, medium to good quality alfalfa or grass hay should be offered free choice at all times. Supply clean, fresh water free-choice. Offer free-choice salt at all times. For Transitioning to 100% Total Goat : 1. Establish the current intake in lb./day before beginning the change. 2. On the first day of change begin feeding 25% Total Goat and 75% of the previous feed. 3. On days 2 through 10 increase the percentage of Total Goat by 10% of the original amount per day. Example: 1. Breeder A feeds XYZ Feed at tbe rate of 2lbs. per day. 2. Feed 8oz of Total Gaot along with 24oz of XYZ Feed per day. 3. Increase the amount of Total goat Feed per day by 2.4 oz per day until you reach 100% of the feed being Total Goat. Warning Do not feed to sheep or lambs as this product contains high levels of copper. Vitamins Vitamins act as catalysts and antioxidants to start chemical reactions in the body and reduce cell aging and destruction. Total Goat contains levels of vitamins A & E that assist in preventing cell destruction due to oxidative chemicals from the environment and from metabolic by-products. Theoretically a ruminant animal does not require B-complex vitamins for good performance. However, Total Goat contains a broad spectrum of B-complex vitamins to maximize the growth of the microflora in the rumen; which improves the digestibility of the fiber in the ration. Ascophyllum nodosum Total Goat contains Tasco™ brand of A. nodosum; which is documented by science to improve immune function, improve heat stress resistance, improve fiber digestibility, improve milk production, improve carcass quality and control E. coli in the large intestine. Producers also report improved definition, improved semen quality and improves conception rates. Protein The protein in Total Goat is from all natural sources. Energy The energy in Total Goat is derived from highly available starch and fiber in extruded grain and fiber. The extrusion process improves digestibility of both starch and fiber. The main source of fiber is derived from alfalfa. Soluble starch turns to sugar, which increases bacterial growth in the rumen. Sugar is the best source of carbon units for the microflora in the rumen to use with ammonia from the breakdown of the natural protein to use in building new cells. Major Minerals Calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and potassium are critical major minerals for growth, reproduction and lactation. They are required in specific ratios and levels for maximum performance. Total Goat is formulated to contain these critical minerals at levels and ratios for all conditions. Trace Minerals Trace minerals act as catalysts for most chemical reactions in the animal’s body. All feedstuffs contain trace minerals, but the levels are variable and the bioavailability of each is not well known. Inadequate trace mineral intake can result in slow growth, low reproductive performance and inadequate immune function. Total Goat is formulated to meet not only minimum, but optimum levels of trace minerals for maximum performance. To insure adequate bioavailability, Total Goat contains a minimum of 50% of the copper, manganese and Zinc as Amino Acid Chelates; which is the most bioavailable form known. EXTRUSION PROCESS Total Goat is process by extrusion which is the exposure to extreme high temperature and pressure to expose more surface area of fiber and starch molecules in the ration. This increases the rate and extent of digestion. This process increases the digestibility of Total Goat to over 90%. FIBER QUALITY Most of the fiber in Total Goat is from high quality alfalfa hay and a small portion is from a less digestible form to maintain rumen health and reduce possibility of bloat. ENERGY SOURCES Only high quality sources of energy are used in Total Goat. Corn, alfalfa, rice bran and soybean oil meal provide nearly all of the energy. PROTEIN Soybean oil meal and alfalfa provide high quality, highly digestible protein. The only non-protein nitrogen comes from the ammonium chloride. CLOSED FORMULA The formula for Total Goat is a closed formula, which means that it is not least cost and changeable from one load to the next. The only time the formula will change is if small additives would be added to improve performance. CALCIUM:PHOSPHORUS It is important to have the correct levels and ratio of calcium:phosphorus. Total Goat contains calcium and phosphorus in a 2.5:1 ratio. This provides adequate levels and aids in preventing water belly. POTASSIUM and SODIUM Total Goat contains potassium and sodium at levels to maintain proper tissue hydration during periods of stress such as traveling and hot weather.
